"Bag Up Manitoba" 2014

In conjunction with Take Pride Winnipeg!, École Robert Browning will be participating in the annual Bag Up Manitoba plastic bag roundup challenge. This initiative will begin on Tuesday, September 30th and will run until November 1st, 2014. The goal of this challenge is to inspire students, staff and the community to do more to reduce their waste and consider reusing, recycling and remanufacturing options. Students and staff will be asked to collect as many plastic shopping bags as they can and bring them to school for recycling. The bags will be collected by BFI Canada in early November.

Please Note: We ask that you ensure all bags are clean and empty without food or receipts inside. And, all bags are turned inside out.

Here’s a handy list of what can be recycled:

Grocery Bags                        Bread Bags          Case Over-wrap                                   Dry Cleaning Bags

Newspaper Sleeves               Ice Bags                 Pellet Bags                                           Ziploc and other reclosable food bags

Produce Bags                       Bubble Wrap        Salt Bags                                              Cereal Bags

There will be two containers (main level and upper level) set up in the school. Please ensure that you and your students follow the guidelines listed above. Thanks for your support!
